Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Zhou Limin Attends Reception in Celebration of the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

On September 21, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in Sweden hosted a reception celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Ambassador Zhou Limin attended the reception and delivered remarks. Ms. Camilla Mellander, Director General for Trade Policy at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, along with more than 300 guests, including friends from various sectors and diplomatic representatives in Sweden, attended the event.

Ambassador Zhou reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made in its development over the past 77 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He stressed that the four major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping have contributed Chinese solutions and strength to world peace and development, injecting stability and positive energy into a world facing profound changes, turbulence and uncertainty. China stands ready to work with Sweden to leverage the complementary strengths of the two economies, tap the potential for practical cooperation, deliver more fruits of cooperation to the two countries and peoples, and promote the sound, stable and sustainable development of China-Sweden relations.

The guests watched a video highlighting the achievements of China’s modernization. They spoke highly of the four major global initiatives and China’s development achievements, reflected on the long-standing friendship between China and Sweden, exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation, and expressed hope for the further development of China-Sweden relations.
